Pregnancy Options Counseling
After confirming a pregnancy, many women (and men) feel overwhelmed at the thought of the next steps.
- How do I parent?
- Should I get an abortion?
- Is adoption for me?
All of these questions are perfectly normal to ask. Since nothing will prepare you for your next move better than knowledge, our team is here to answer your questions and provide support, without judgment.

Parenting
Abortion
Know the facts. The term “abortion” does not describe a single procedure. Different methods are used depending upon how far along you are, and you should be informed before scheduling an abortion outside of Texas. We will equip you with information in order for you to make an informed decision.

Adoption
Adoption is an option for many families. You may choose to entrust your baby to the love and care of a couple that is waiting. If you’d like to learn more about adoption, or have questions regarding the different types of adoption, we can refer you to several adoption agencies and offer an adoption specialist to meet with you at FirstLook.
Reproductive Loss
FirstLook is a safe place for hope and healing if you are suffering from reproductive loss. This grief affects men, women, family members, and friends. We provide a caring and confidential space for you to grieve. Our Wellness Coach as well as our support team are here to walk with you on your journey to healing.

Doula Support
A doula is a professional trained in childbirth and provides emotional, physical, and educational support to a mother who is expecting, is experiencing labor, or has recently given birth. Their purpose is to help women have a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing experience. A doula may take on many roles, but some of the main ones include:
- Meeting with you during your pregnancy
- Teaching you relaxation, breathing and/or meditation skills that will help you during labor
- Serving as a resource to you to answer many of your questions about birth
- Helping you choose a birth plan that works for you, including where the birth will happen (home/hospital) and which pain management techniques are best for you
During birth, a doula may act as your sole support partner, or they may work alongside your partner for added support. They are trained in helping you to stay relaxed and focused and will help communicate your preferences to medical staff.
After birth, the doula may provide assistance in caring for your newborn, assist with breastfeeding education, and give encouragement in those emotional first few weeks.

If aligning with a doula is something you can see yourself doing, don’t hesitate to fill out our Doula Interest Form. Many of our clients say that choosing a doula was the best decision they made during their pregnancy.
Spiritual Support and Bible Study
Many of the men and women we meet have found support through the words of Jesus Christ as written in the bible. Whether you are a practicing Christian or have never been to church, Bible study within a group setting can provide immense support and encouragement, and can instill optimism and hope during this important time. Even non-believers have found spiritual strength through the principles and lessons found in scripture. No matter where you are on your spiritual path, Bible study at FirstLook is a welcoming group and we invite you with open arms.
